With Covid-19 cases on the rise again and as our state adopts new restrictions, we want you to know that we are here for you.  Ferndale Family Dental continues to be open to serve our community.  We understand that delays to dental care can be painful, costly, and could create unwanted and often unnecessary complications.

Dentistry has been and continues to be safe.  Since we reopened our doors in June, our office has adopted and implemented additional guidelines and protocols to ensure our patients' safety.

To allow for social distancing, we manage our appointments to allow greater time in between patients as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any given time.  This can mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. This can also mean that your dental team will discuss completing your treatment with longer but fewer appointments.

Prior to your appointment with us, our office will contact you via phone and ask you a set of COVID-19 screening questions.  It is required that we complete this questionnaire prior to your appointment.  We will have to reschedule your appointment if we are unable to complete this step

To allow for social distancing, we ask all patients to remain in their vehicle and to call or text our office to notify us of your arrival.  A team member will come out and walk you through a personalized arrival procedures, including but not limited to taking your temperature and completing day-of COVID-19 screening, before guiding you from your vehicle directly to treatment rooms to eliminate contacting surfaces.

At this time, we also request that friends and family who accompany our patients be limited to one companion, and if at all possible, to remain in the vehicle and not enter the office unless absolutely necessary.  If a companion must enter, please inform them that they, too, will be subject to screening and social distancing protocols.

We also request that everyone entering the clinic to wear face coverings or face masks.  For the time being, we have also removed magazines and items that can harbor or transfer germs of any kind both in the lobby and treatment rooms.

To help facilitate a contactless exit from your appointment, we encourage you to make payment arrangement in advance with our office to avoid delay or the need to stop by the front desk after your appointment.  Please contact our office to inquire about other contactless payment options we have available.

At this time, we also offer teledentistry services for evaluations and follow-up visits that can be done online or through video meetings.  Please contact our office if you or someone you know could benefit from this type of appointment.

Finally, when you come to our office you will see most of us, particularly the clinic team, already dressed with the additional PPE.  While you are already accustomed to seeing us wearing PPE during treatment, the current guidelines require us to keep our gear on the entire time.  When you come to your appointment, it is our hope that your visit will remain as comfortable as possible, that you will continue to see the smiles behind our masks, and feel the warmth of our hearts as we continue to partner with you with your oral health.

Stay healthy and positive!

Sincerely,

Dr. Sacro and Your Dental Team
